About CTIE PDF

The Center for Technology Innovations in Education (CTIE) at the University of Missouri-Columbia is located in 8000 square feet of space in London Hall positioned between the Colleges of Engineering and Education. A $500,000 renovation of 4500 square feet of the CTIE space was completed in 1997 providing a facility that is ideally suited to research and development using technology. The other 3500 square feet of space was renovated in 2001 to provide improved space for COE system administration, technical workspace, software usability testing, and a conference facility.

The network infrastructure of CTIE supports 100 Mbps switched Ethernet to each workstation and direct connection of the network switches to the 1 Gbps campus backbone and the 622 Mbps campus research network.

CTIE and COE projects located within the Center currently employ approximately 30 employees, most who integrate work at CTIE with advancing their education at MU. The employees in CTIE serve as programmers, researchers, interface designers, system architects, learning theorists, learning systems designers, evaluators, graphic designers, 3D modelers, videographers, and software testers. An important benefit to a center project is its access to a wide range of expertise and knowledge from personnel working on other projects.
